Managing the Live School Environment

Working within the grounds of an operational school introduced a unique set of constraints that shaped our delivery strategy:

Total Segregation: The work area was strictly segregated from pupils and staff. KAS maintained rigorous site boundaries to ensure that all scaffolding operations remained entirely independent of the school's daily movement.
School Procedures: Our teams operated in full compliance with school-specific safety procedures, including enhanced security protocols and scheduled "quiet periods" to avoid disrupting the learning environment.
Term-Time Scheduling: The project was managed against a high-pressure programme dictated by term dates, requiring KAS to hit every milestone with zero margin for delay.

Logistical & Trade Coordination

The site footprint for the new teaching block was extremely restricted, necessitating a high level of on-site coordination:

Tight Site Footprint: With minimal space for material storage, KAS implemented a sequenced delivery model to ensure the site remained clear for other trades.
Multi-Trade Interface: We worked in close proximity to the steel frame contractors and other primary trades, using proactive daily communication to ensure scaffolding adaptations were completed ahead of the critical path.
Precision Planning: Every phase of the build, from the initial steel frame access to the final cladding, was planned to maximize efficiency within the limited workspace.

Key Outcomes

Zero Disruption: The project was delivered without any impact on the school’s operational schedule or the safety of the student body.

Program Certainty: Scaffolding was erected and adapted in strict alignment with Bauvill’s term-time milestones.

My first opinion of KAS Scaffolding when they arrived onsite was how professional they looked all in the same branded uniform & smart which isn’t something you see to much with other scaffold companies.

I had KAS Scaffolding on a project that consisted of 22no Apartments and a commercial unit.

Before, during and after scaffolding works KAS were always easy to work with.

Works were undertaken smoothly and efficiently with attention to detail i.e. clipping all Scaff boards, aesthetically pleasing scaffold, labour well presented with critical dates always met.

From remote link regarding Handovers, inspections, labour skill cards etc, to directors/C.M visiting site to accommodate various issues I have found KAS to be a good sub-contractor and would always recommend.
