Technical Design & Safety

Given the high-risk nature of petrochemical sites, our design process accounts for critical variables that standard scaffolding might overlook:

Engineering Precision:
Load-bearing calculations and "buildability" assessments.

All projects are executed in strict accordance with current Temporary Works standards, maintained through seamless coordination between our designers, onsite operational teams, and client representatives.

The Challenge

Provide secure access to the underside of a marine jetty subject to extreme tidal changes.

Solution:
Designed and installed a fully hung Layher system scaffold.
Engineering Detail:
The structure was engineered to withstand full submersion of up to 8 metres at high tide. This required specialized material selection and reinforced fixing details to maintain structural integrity under heavy hydraulic pressure and environmental exposure.

High-Rise Storage Tank Perimeter | 17m Height

The Challenge:
Create a stable, high-reaching platform for comprehensive maintenance on a large-scale storage vessel.

Solution:
Erected a 17-metre-high free-standing radial scaffold around the full perimeter of the tank.
Application:
The design provided uninterrupted 360-degree access for lagging, painting, and welding repairs, ensuring a 100% safe working platform at height without requiring ties to the tank shell.

Bespoke Lifting Frames | Live Process Environments

The Challenge:
Safe removal and replacement of heavy infrastructure (pipes and valves) where standard lifting equipment cannot reach.

Solution:
Engineered and installed multiple bespoke lifting frames tailored to the tight footprints of live industrial environments.
Precision:
Each frame was custom-designed to account for specific load-bearing requirements, overhead clearances, and preferred lifting methods, ensuring zero disruption to surrounding live operations.

I had KAS Scaffolding on a project that consisted of 22no Apartments and a commercial unit.

Before, during and after scaffolding works KAS were always easy to work with.

Works were undertaken smoothly and efficiently with attention to detail i.e. clipping all Scaff boards, aesthetically pleasing scaffold, labour well presented with critical dates always met.

From remote link regarding Handovers, inspections, labour skill cards etc, to directors/C.M visiting site to accommodate various issues I have found KAS to be a good sub-contractor and would always recommend.
